Award Category Sponsorship · Premium Positioning

Be seen. Be known. Own the category.

Put your brand at the heart of the people, businesses and achievements shaping your industry. Category sponsorship is more than a logo on an awards night · it puts your organisation into the conversation, not at the edge of it.

Tell us who you want to reach, what you want your organisation to be known for and what you want sponsorship to achieve. We will help identify the The Legacy of Leadership Award categories that could provide the strongest strategic fit.

What do you want your brand to stand beside?

Growth · Innovation · Leadership · Entrepreneurship · People · Excellence · Impact · Progress

A category sponsorship is more than putting your logo beside an award. It puts your organisation beside something your customers, employees and market already care about.

The Big Idea

Your brand deserves more than a logo.

Traditional sponsorship starts and finishes with visibility

  • A logo.
  • A banner.
  • A table.
  • A mention.

Category sponsorship creates something more valuable

Association.

When your organisation sponsors a relevant award category, people do not simply see your company. They begin to associate your brand with what that category represents.

InnovationLeadershipGrowthExcellenceEntrepreneurshipCustomer ExperienceSustainabilityAchievement

The right category gives a brand something advertising alone often struggles to create:

Relevance + Recognition + Credibility.

What category sponsorship could do for your brand

Three commercial outcomes · one strategic position.

01

Be Visible

Put your brand where your market is looking.

Your brand can be repeatedly seen by nominees, applicants, finalists, attendees, partners and the wider business community throughout the awards journey. This is not about being visible once. It is about creating repeated opportunities for people to see you, recognise you, and remember you.

02

Own Your Space

Become associated with something your market already values.

Choose a category aligned with your organisation and become strongly associated with the achievement it represents. Do not simply sponsor an event · own a conversation that matters to your market.

03

Build Credibility

Let association strengthen perception.

Being connected with a respected awards programme and recognised businesses can strengthen how people perceive your organisation. Position your brand alongside achievement, ambition, leadership, innovation and success · do not simply tell the market what your organisation stands for, show them what you choose to stand beside.

Visibility → Relationships → Opportunity

Be seen by the people you want to know.

Visibility becomes considerably more powerful when it creates relationships · category sponsorship can create targeted opportunities to engage with the audiences that matter most.

Category sponsorship can create opportunities to engage with

FoundersCEOsBusiness OwnersDecision MakersEntrepreneursIndustry LeadersPartnersCustomersProfessionalsInvestors

The objective is not simply “how many people saw our logo?” · the better question is “who did we get the opportunity to meet?”

Visibility

Gets you seen.

Engagement

Gets you remembered.

Relationships

Create opportunity.

Category sponsorship can help create conversations with potential customers, partners, suppliers, collaborators and referrers. Commercial outcomes and specific leads cannot be guaranteed · the platform creates the opportunity.

Build authority

Do not just sponsor the conversation. Contribute to it.

Sponsors can participate throughout the sponsorship journey · positioning the organisation from company → expert → authority in the eyes of the community.

Thought Leadership

Position your organisation as a voice on the topic the category represents.

Expert Articles

Contribute editorial pieces that carry your expertise into the wider community.

Interviews

Named interviews across the awards content journey · seen by every relevant audience.

Give the brand a story to tell

Create moments people remember.

Professional photography, video, finalist announcements, behind-the-scenes moments, award presentations, winner celebrations, interviews, social content, sponsor stories · content that keeps working long after the event is over.

Content the organisation can use across

Hospitality with purpose

Do not just take a table. Use the room.

Sponsors can use The Legacy of Leadership Award to:

  • Reward employees
  • Thank customers
  • Invite prospects
  • Strengthen partnerships
  • Celebrate achievements
  • Develop relationships
  • Create memorable experiences

Some business relationships start in meeting rooms. Others start around a table.

Employee engagement

Your team should be part of the story too.

Category sponsorship is not only external. It gives your staff an opportunity to attend, participate and celebrate alongside your leadership · a meaningful signal that the organisation is actively backing something that matters.

  • Team attendance at the awards night
  • Employee brand-ambassador moments (social, PR, internal)
  • Internal-comms + recruitment content from the sponsorship
  • Cultural signal · we back excellence, publicly

Own the moment

When the winner’s name is called, your brand is part of the moment.

Sponsor representative walking onto the stage. Finalists watching. Sponsor branding on screen. Award being presented. Photography. Winner celebrating. Audience applauding.

This is the moment where brand visibility becomes emotional association. Your organisation is not simply watching success being celebrated · you are helping celebrate it.

Long-term pipeline

Turn relationships into a multi-year commercial pipeline.

The single most under-priced benefit of category sponsorship is the long-term pipeline · winners, finalists, community members and alumni become the compounding relationship base that keeps delivering opportunity years after the initial cycle.

  • Ongoing engagement with the winner + finalist community
  • Alumni-network access that compounds each cycle
  • Warm-context pipeline for the following 24-36 months
  • Multi-year renewal + category ownership across cycles

Category sponsorship is not a one-event transaction · it is the beginning of a multi-year commercial relationship with the community you most want to be inside.

Community positioning

Show your market what you stand for.

Sponsorship demonstrates a company’s commitment to recognising and supporting excellence within its industry, profession, region, business community or specialism.

Illustrative example

A bank sponsors Growth Business of the Year.

See how category sponsorship could come to life. An illustrative example, not a case study: what twelve months in a category could look like, activity by activity.

The sponsor

A bank

The objective

Be known as the partner for growing businesses

The audience

Founders and CEOs of scaling businesses

The category

Growth Business of the Year

Why it fits

The category gathers exactly the businesses the bank wants to support

The event-night version

“Your logo will appear on our website and you can present the trophy.”

A logo. A trophy hand-off. A photograph. A thank-you email. The sponsorship starts and finishes on one night · which is why event-night packages struggle to justify serious investment.

The full-journey version

“We will position your organisation at the heart of the Growth Business of the Year community, connecting your brand with ambitious businesses throughout the awards journey.”

Twelve months of activity in the category · roundtables, content, education, warm introductions, on-stage moment, post-event PR, ongoing alumni engagement. The sponsor gets a full-year commercial platform · not a one-night activation.

Month 1-2

01

Category launched

Bank named as headline sponsor of Growth Business of the Year · full brand integration across launch PR + web + community.

Month 2-3

02

Nominations open

Bank hosts an educational webinar for prospective entrants · positions the bank as the expert on growth-stage finance.

Month 3-4

03

Applications received

Bank contributes a “what makes a growth business” article to the programme magazine · reaches every applicant.

Month 4-5

04

Judging period

While the independent panel judges, the bank hosts a growth-finance roundtable for entrants · sponsors never take part in judging, scoring or shortlisting.

Month 5-6

05

Finalists announced

Bank hosts a private finalist reception · warm relationships built with every finalist CEO before the ceremony.

Month 6-7

06

Awards night

The bank’s Regional Director presents Growth Business of the Year · sits on the top table with winner + finalists · brand + photography everywhere.

Month 7-8

07

Post-event PR window

The bank’s winner-story is picked up by trade press · bank credited as category sponsor across every mention.

Month 8-12

08

Alumni + follow-through

Relationships built during the campaign may continue into post-awards conversations where there is mutual commercial interest · alumni engagement keeps the bank close to the community year-on-year.

The transformation

That changes sponsorship from logo exposure into

VisibilityAuthorityRelationshipsEngagementOpportunitiesROI

This is where category sponsorship becomes substantially more valuable. Any commercial follow-through depends on mutual interest; none of it is guaranteed.

Judging integrity

Sponsor the category. Never the outcome.

Category sponsors support the conversation, celebrate achievement and engage with the community around an award. Judging stays independent: sponsorship does not influence scoring, shortlisting, finalist selection or winner selection.

That independence is what makes the association worth having.

Premium positioning · genuine scarcity

One category. One lead sponsor.*

The strongest sponsorship positions should feel ownable. Where applicable, primary naming sponsorship of a category is limited so competing organisations cannot simply purchase the same position.

DistinctivenessCategory associationCompetitive separationStronger positioning

If your competitor owned this category, would you wish you had?

*Subject to the specific awards programme and sponsorship structure · we do not use fake countdown timers or artificial urgency · scarcity is based on genuine category availability.

We tell you honestly where a category stands: available, in conversation with another organisation, reserved or already sponsored. If yours is taken, we'll suggest the closest alternatives.

Build my sponsorship

Let's turn the idea into a conversation.

Whatever you have told us on this page (what you want to stand beside, your priorities, your category matches) comes with your enquiry. We'll only ask for what's missing.

Not sure yet? Find my category first.

People can’t choose a brand they don’t know.

  • First they see you.
  • Then they recognise you.
  • Then they remember you.
  • Then they trust you.
  • Then the conversation can begin.

Category sponsorship creates the opportunity to put your brand into that journey.

Old sponsorship question

“Where will our logo appear?”

The better question

“Who do we want to know us?”

The purpose of category sponsorship is not simply to generate impressions · it is to create a platform from which a business can build recognition, authority, relationships, content, conversations and commercial opportunities.

The value equation

Six stages · one strategic commercial outcome.

01

Visibility

Get seen by the right audience across the whole journey.

02

Authority

Demonstrate expertise through contribution, not just presence.

03

Relationships

Build warm connections with nominees, finalists + winners.

04

Engagement

Turn attention into conversation across the year, not just one night.

05

Opportunities

Create the platform from which commercial outcomes become possible.

06

Return

Use the platform to pursue longer-term commercial value, measured against the objectives agreed at the start.

Questions sponsors ask

Before you decide

Does sponsoring a category influence who wins?

No. Judging is independent. Sponsors never take part in scoring, shortlisting, finalist selection or winner selection.

Can a competitor sponsor the same category?

Where applicable, primary naming sponsorship of a category is limited to one lead sponsor, so a competitor cannot buy the same position. It depends on the programme and the sponsorship structure, and we confirm it in your proposal.

How much does category sponsorship cost?

Indicative levels start at £5,000, £10,000 and £25,000, and vary by category and programme. Every enquiry receives a scoped proposal rather than a fixed price.

When should we start?

Ideally six to twelve months before the awards, so your brand is part of the whole journey from nominations to winners. Later starts are possible, with a shorter journey.

Can we sponsor more than one category?

Yes, subject to availability. Some sponsors combine a category with wider sponsorship or partnership.

What happens after we enquire?

Someone from the partnership team looks at what you told us, confirms where your preferred categories stand, and comes back with a proposal to discuss.

Which conversation should your brand be part of?

Growth? Innovation? Leadership? Entrepreneurship? People? Excellence?
Your brand can own a category.

Tell us what matters to your organisation, who you want to reach and what you want sponsorship to achieve. We'll help you explore the categories that could make sense. Your competitors can attend the awards; your brand can own a category.

Do not simply ask “how much does sponsorship cost?” · ask “what could owning the right category be worth to our brand?”
